Training Team – CELTA Trainers

All teacher trainers at ILC France in Paris are highly experienced E.F.L. teachers, holders of the Cambridge Diploma (D.E.L.T.A) and are officially recognized Cambridge Language assessment  trainers and oral examiners. They are impassioned by teacher training and seek constantly to raise standards .

Margaret Brosnan

Margaret is a very experienced teacher of General and Business English to adults. She has worked in Brussel, Dublin and Paris preparing learners for the Cambridge examinations and for IELTS, teaching a wide range of professional courses and coaching corporate clients at top executive level. Margaret has been an enthusiastic and efficient  CELTA trainer for several years.

Ruth Bath

Ruth first qualified as a teacher in 2007 and has a wide range of classroom experience both teaching adults and young learners. She’s taught all over the world and France is the 10th country she’s lived and worked in. Before moving to Paris and ILC in 2019, she was an academic manager at the British Council Ethiopia and in this role, ran face to face and online training sessions for teachers across Sub-Saharan Africa. 

Darren Cainey

Darren has been teaching English since 1998. He has been a CELTA trainer since 2004 and a Delta trainer since 2012. Before moving to France, he previously taught or trained in Thailand, Spain, the UK, and Peru. He has a special interest in online learning and has tutored on an e-Moderating course for online CELTA tutors. He was also the Online Course Tutor on two pilot courses of the first ever fully online CELTA courses.

Jane Denier - Cambridge Assessor

Before working as a language teacher Jane gained valuable experience in a variety of professional fields such as advertising and market research in the UK and in Nigeria. At ILC she has worked with a wide range of learners and has taught specialist courses (pharmaceutical, telecommunications and airport companies). Her current interests include cross-cultural courses and coaching  She has been a teacher trainer since 1996 and an blended online trainer since 2016

Dan Clark

Dan has been working as a teacher trainer since January 2014. Prior to teacher training, he gained a wide range of experience working in both the adult and young learner classrooms, as well as teaching specialist business English courses to company professionals. He has worked in Paris and China, teaching general English courses as well as preparation classes for Cambridge examinations. Dan is also a blended online trainer
