    • HOW DOES THE ONLINE PART-TIME CELTA COURSE WORK ?

    ONLINE BLENDED – 12 WEEKS PART-TIME

    • Orientaiton Day on first day of the course
    • 6 one-hour Zoom meetings every second week in non-teaching weeks.
    • Thirty online course units to be completed over twelve weeks.
    • Weekly deadlines for completion of online work.
    • Weeky trainer-moderated discussion forums.
    • A mandatory 6 hours of teaching practice for each candidate.
    • Teaching practice, feedback and guided lesson planning takes place over 2 days every 2 weeks at ILC France in Paris.
    • The mandatory 4 written assignments.
    • Regular, online contact and exchange with CELTA trainers.

    TEACHING PRACTICE TIMETABLE

    Teaching Practice (TP) Location : ILC France 13 passage Dauphine 75006 Paris – France

    Teaching practice normally takes place in weeks 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 12. This is nomrally on Mondays and Tuesdays.

    10:00 – 12:00 Assisted Lesson Planning

    13:00 – 16:10 Teaching Practice (TP)

    16.10 – 17.00 Feedback

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Language level: C1+ – need compency in written and spoken English.
    • Minimum age: 18
    • Educational level: applicants should be eligible for entry to university.
    • Required potential: need to be able to demonstrate the potenital to devleop the necessary skills to become an effective teacher.

    HOW TO APPLY ?

    1. Complete the pre-course language evaluation task called the CELTA Pre-Interview Task (see document in top right column)
    2. Pass a 60-minute interview over the phone or face to face with a CELTA Trainer

    Equipment

    • A reliable computer and monitor or laptop.
    • Internet connect with reliable download speeds
    • USB headset with built in microphone is desirable.

     Software

    • An up-to-date operating system.
    • An up-to-date browser – Firefox, Chrome, Safair or Internet Explorer.
    • Word processing software – MS Word is recommended. Open Office or Libre Office are suitable.
